Liquid Nitrogen / Liquid Carbon Dioxide Cooled chambers
Expendable gas cooled environmental chambers offer very fast ramping rates and extended temperature ranges down to -184 deg C, while allowing extremely precise control of the temperature. These environmental chambers are less expensive and have negligible maintenance costs when compared to the refrigerated chambers. A wide range of expendable cooling options are available and conversion of the chambers from one to another, on site is both simple and inexpensive.

LCO2 supply is available in 50 lb siphon cylinders pressurized at 850 psi, a 350 lb dewar flask, or a bulk satellite system at 300 psi. The lower limit using LCO2 is -73 deg C.

LN2 is available commercially in a 350 lb dewar flask which can be set at pressures between 20 and 200 psi or alternatively, a bulk LN2 supply system, having a typical working pressure of 25 psi. Temperature of -183 deg C can be achieved using LN2 cooling.

The LN2 / LCO2 cooled environmental chambers are available in sizes ranging from 0.37 to 6.16 cu ft of working volume. The chambers are supplied with a choice of two controllers, both providing local and remote control. The EC0x series of environmental chambers feature the TC01 controller which allows local and remote temperature, time, and cycling control. The CE Approved EC1x and EC1xHA environmental chambers feature the TC10 controller providing advanced features such as battery backed memory, user probe, controlled ramping etc.
The environmental chambers also offer optional features such as 3 or 2 tank (auto or manual) switching, LN2 line purge required to cool long LN2 lines from supply to chamber, N2 gas purge for applications requiring dry gas atmosphere, ambient air cooling in the EC1xHA models to conserve on expectorant usage, etc.
